Accessibility statement
What we built in, what we know is outstanding, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.

Our commitment
Most of the people this site is written for are approaching or past 65. Many use screen readers, screen magnification, keyboard-only navigation, or simply larger text. Building this site to be usable by all of them was a requirement, not an afterthought.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement describes what that means in practice here, and what we know is not yet done.
What is built in
- Every colour combination used for text was checked against WCAG contrast ratios before it shipped — body text on white is at least 7:1, and text on the dark sections is at least 8:1
- The whole site is operable by keyboard alone, including the mega menu, the mobile drawer, the quote funnel and the cookie dialog
- Focus is always visible, never removed, and it moves sensibly — the mobile menu traps focus while open and returns it when closed
- A skip link jumps straight to the main content
- Every image has alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology
- Form fields have real labels, errors are announced, and an error summary appears at the top of the form
- Headings run in order, and landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) are marked up properly
- Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320px, and scales to 200% without loss of content
- The animated artwork honours `prefers-reduced-motion` — it renders one static frame and stops, and every reveal animation is disabled
- All content is visible without JavaScript; animation is purely additive
- Tables have proper headers and captions, and wide tables scroll within their own container
Known limitations
We would rather list these than pretend they do not exist:
- Some third-party services we link to — the scheduling tool, carrier enrolment platforms, HealthCare.gov — are outside our control and may not meet the same standard. If one of them creates a barrier, call us and we will complete the task with you by phone.
- Professional photography has not yet been added to the site. When it is, each image will get descriptive alternative text.
- The Spanish translation covers the whole site, but Sarah conducts business in English. Interpretation for an appointment can be arranged on request.
If something does not work
Tell us, and we will fix it — and in the meantime we will get you the information another way. There is no scenario where a website problem should stop you getting help with your insurance.
Call 435-292-8777, or email sarah@cupsinsurance.com. It helps if you can tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you use — but tell us anyway even if you cannot.
We aim to respond within two business days.
