Why CUPS

Why clients choose CUPS

Insurance can be confusing. Getting help with it shouldn't be.

Clients come to Sarah because they want someone who will take the time to listen, explain their options, and help them make a decision they actually understand. She doesn't believe in simply finding a plan, completing an application, and disappearing.

When helping with Medicare or health insurance, she looks at the details that matter: your doctors, prescriptions, benefits, costs, and individual circumstances. She explains what she's finding in plain English, points out things that deserve a closer look, and helps you understand the trade-offs.

And the job doesn't end when the application is submitted. If you have a question later, something changes, or your insurance isn't working the way you expected — you call her.

Client reviews consistently describe her as helpful, informative, professional, accommodating, and kind.

The process

How working together actually goes

No pressure, no jargon, and no disappearing after the application. Here is the whole thing.

  1. Step 01

    We talk

A real conversation about your doctors, your prescriptions, your budget and what has not been working. No script.

    Your situation, captured

  2. Step 02

    Sarah researches

She checks each of your providers against the plan networks and enters every prescription to see how it is tiered and priced.

    Networks & drugs checked

  3. Step 03

    You see the comparison

Plans side by side in plain English, with the trade-offs stated honestly — including the ones that count against a plan she could sell you.

    Plans side by side

  4. Step 04

    You decide

You choose. If you want to think about it, think about it. If a plan she found is not right, she will say so.

    Your call, no pressure

  5. Step 05

    She handles the enrolment

The application, the paperwork, the follow-up with the carrier — and confirmation that it actually went through.

    Application confirmed

  6. Step 06

    You call her all year

A denied claim, a pharmacy surprise, a doctor leaving the network, a review each autumn. This is the part most people never get.

    Someone to call

I moved to Ogden, Utah, in 2002, just after the Winter Olympics, and quickly fell in love with the beauty of Northern Utah and everything this area has to offer. I later had the opportunity to serve as the Volunteer and Expo Coordinator for the GOAL Foundation, helping with the Ogden Marathon and becoming even more connected to the community I am proud to call home.

I truly love what I do. Helping people understand their Medicare and health insurance options is not just my profession — it is something I genuinely enjoy. I believe people make better decisions when they have clear, honest information and someone willing to take the time to explain their choices.

As an independent insurance agent, I am grateful to grow my business alongside clients who continue to trust me year after year. Their referrals and continued support mean more to me than they probably realize.

The cup

So… why CUPS?

That story starts with Robert. Her husband loves coffee cups, so when they were creating the agency, the cup became part of their identity. It also fits what the agency is meant to be: comfortable, approachable, and a place where you can ask questions without feeling overwhelmed.

Around here, CUPS also means:

Choices Understood. People Supported.

Insurance gives you plenty of choices. Sarah's job is to help you understand them — and support you after you have made one.

Prefer to read in Spanish?

I may have a Spanish last name, but unfortunately, Spanish isn't one of my talents. 😊 I still want insurance information to be easier to understand, so this website can be viewed in Spanish.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

CUPS Insurance is new — how long have you actually been doing this?

The agency is new. The agent is not. Sarah has been licensed since 2009 and has spent those years helping people across Ogden and Northern Utah with Medicare and health insurance solutions, including six years within another local agency before founding CUPS Insurance.

Founding her own agency changed the name on the door and gave her the freedom to work the way she believes clients deserve. It did not change who answers the phone or how long she has been doing this.

What does it cost to work with you?

Nothing. There is no fee for our help — not for the research, the comparison, the enrolment, or the calls afterwards.

Insurance carriers pay agents a commission when a plan is issued, and that commission is built into the plan price whether you use an agent or not. Buying the same plan directly does not make it cheaper. It just means nobody checked your doctors first, and nobody picks up when something goes wrong in March.

Do you represent every plan available?

No, and no agent does. We do not offer every plan available in your area. Sarah represents a range of carriers across Medicare and ACA, listed on this site, which is enough to compare meaningfully in Weber, Davis and the surrounding counties.

For information on every option available to you, you can contact Medicare.gov, call 1-800-MEDICARE, or contact your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).

Which areas do you serve?

Sarah is licensed in Utah, Arizona and Idaho. Most clients are in Weber and Davis counties, with Morgan, Salt Lake and Box Elder counties also well served.

The office is at 3293 Harrison Blvd #213 in Ogden, and in-person appointments are available there. Everywhere else is handled by phone or video, which most people prefer anyway.

Do you speak Spanish?

Sarah conducts business in English. This website is available in Spanish so the information itself is easier to understand, and interpretation can be arranged for an appointment on request.

As she puts it: "I may have a Spanish last name, but unfortunately, Spanish isn't one of my talents." The site is translated so that the choices are still understood, in whichever language is most comfortable for you.

What do I need to have ready before we talk?

Not much, and nothing you have to prepare in advance to book the call. It helps to have a list of your doctors, a list of your prescriptions with dosages, your Medicare card if you have one, and a rough idea of your household income for the year if you are looking at Marketplace coverage.

If you do not have all of that, come anyway. Sarah will help you assemble it.

Are the calculators on this site a quote?

No. Every calculator here is an estimate, built from published plan-year figures and the details you type in. They are not a quote, an offer of coverage, or a determination of eligibility.

Your final premium and any advance premium tax credit are confirmed at enrolment on HealthCare.gov or with the carrier directly.

What happens after I enrol?

That is when most of the value shows up. You get a person to call — the same person who enrolled you — for a denied claim, a pharmacy quoting the wrong price, a doctor leaving the network, or a plan change you did not expect.

Every autumn Sarah reviews your plan against next year's network, formulary and costs, so nothing rolls over unexamined. That annual review is where problems get caught, and it is the whole reason the relationship continues.
