The other path
Medigap in Box Elder County
Every plan on this page is either Medicare Advantage or Part D. There is a second, completely different path: stay on Original Medicare and add a supplement policy — Medigap — plus a separate Part D plan.
Medigap has no network: if a provider takes Medicare, they take your Medigap. It does not include drugs. In exchange for a higher monthly premium, your costs are far more predictable.
The timing thing to know: you get a 6-month Medigap open enrollment window that starts when you are 65 and enrolled in Part B. Inside that window no carrier can turn you down or charge you more for your health history. Outside it, in most cases they can.
